Robert Chiste recently joined El Dorado Ventures as an Executive-in-Residence with a focus on alternative energy sources and the smart grid. From 2001 until his retirement in 2009, Bob served as the Chairman, Founding CEO and President of Comverge, Inc (COMV). In 2007 Bob lead the highly successful Comverge IPO which was one of the first pure play cleantech IPOs. Under his leadership, Comverge’s value increased from approximately $5M to a high of $600M.
An energy venture capitalist and serial entrepreneur, Bob formed a corporate venture group for Transco Energy Company (now Williams company) in 1987 until its sale in 1994 when he was appointed as President and CEO of Allwaste, Inc, a public industrial services and energy company, where he served until its sale in 1997. Each of these exits was highly successful with increases in value during Bob’s leadership of approximately 800% and 290% respectively.
From 1997 to 2000 Bob was co-founder in start-ups, Triactive, Inc., FuelQuest, Inc. and iMark, Inc. Both Fuelquest and iMark realized successful exits. He continues to serve as Chairman of the Board for Triactive.
Bob graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics as well as a J.D. and MBA degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
