Rod Beckstrom
Rod Beckstrom is the Director of the National Cyber Security Center of the U.S. Government. He was previously active as a high technology and social entrepreneur, author, activist and transformative speaker. He grew up in Oklahoma and moved to California to attend Stanford where he received his BA and MBA. He was a Fulbright Scholar and then a derivatives trader for Morgan Stanley in London. He co-founded his first company, CATS Software, while in graduate school and led it as Chairman and CEO to become an international public company. He was also a co-founder of Mergent Systems, emotion Inc., Privada Inc., and American Legal Net. He serves on the board of Environmental Defense Fund; is a co-founder of the SV2 philanthropy network; is Chairman of Global Peace Networks and serves on the board of Jamii Bora Trust, a micro-lending network with 180,000 members. He is co-author of four books including: The Starfish and The Spider: The Unstoppable Power of Leaderless Organizations. |
