AlwaysOn today announced the OnHollywood 100, a power list of the top digital media and entertainment companies. The AlwaysOn editorial panel including executives from Bridge Bank, KPMG, LEWIS PR, Manatt, Phelps and Phillips, and PayPal, selected the hundred most innovative and successful private firms. More than 1,000 companies were nominated by venture investors, investment bankers, leading entrepreneurs and industry insiders.
Each of the OnHollywood 100 winners has demonstrated excellence in five criteria: innovation, market potential, customer adoption, media buzz and investor value creation. The list consists solely of private companies at all phases of development from start-up to late stage. AlwaysOn will honor the OnHollywood 100 at the OnHollywood 2006 executive summit, May 2–4, 2006 at Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California. The event will focus on the convergence of Hollywood and Silicon Valley and the challenges, opportunities and business models of the digital era.
"We scoured hundreds of applications we received to vote on the top emerging private technology companies," said Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. "Selected are the companies we considered are demonstrating significant market traction or pursuing game-changing technology. We expect these organizations to have a big impact for both Hollywood and Silicon Valley."
This is the first year that the OnHollywood 100 list has been put together. The 2006 class comes from the following technology sectors: Digital Content Publishers, Content Delivery Platforms, Consumer Services, B2B Services, Enabling Tools, Applications and Services, Devices, Components and Infrastructure. Geographically, the OnHollywood 100 represents the following countries: USA, United Kingdom, China, Taiwan, Norway, Israel, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and South Korea.
