Novellus Systems

In 1986, El Dorado Ventures backed a fledgling semiconductor equipment start-up called Novellus Systems, which was formed to provide advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology to this fast-growing industry.
El Dorado worked closely with Novellus’ early leaders to build the company, helping with such critical tasks as meeting with customers and representing the company in the investment community. EDV also played a pivotal role in guiding the company through the many challenges it faced in its start-up phase.
Today, Novellus is a worldwide leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with annual revenues of nearly $1 billion. The company’s legendary CEO, the late Bob Graham, had this to say about El Dorado Ventures:
“We interviewed a number of venture capital firms to fund Novellus Systems, and EDV came out on top. The firm really became part of the company and was always ready to help – and they always acted with the company’s best interests in mind.” |
