EDV Event

October 11, 2005 | Scott Irwin Leading SDForum's Emerging Technology SIG

For the past 5 years, we've all heard about how web services are going to transform the software industry. And over the past three years, most of the major (and many of the minor) Internet sites and services have begun to offer key features and functionality via web-services APIs (and have begun to compete with each other over the depth and breadth of their offerings). In short, the amount of functionality offered to independent developers via these web APIs is truly staggering these days.

Like any change to the computing infrastructure, this one has created significant opportunities for new startups.

Join us in October for a panel discussion on what these new APIs have made possible, where the industry is going, and which areas are ripe for investment. In addition to hosting this meeting of the SDForum Emerging Technology SIG, El Dorado Ventures is a supporter of SDForum and co-sponsor of the Emerging Technology SIG.

ABOUT THE PANEL
Chris DiBona, Google APIs
Jeff Barr, Amazon Web Services
Robert Goldberg, IdeaLab
Toni Schneider, Yahoo APIs
John Rodkin, CEO of F2 (a new startup using Web APIs)

The panel will be moderated by Scott Irwin of El Dorado Ventures.
