Menlo Park, CA – El Dorado Ventures (EDV) today announced that Sheeraz Haji has joined the firm as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Haji will work with El Dorado to identify new investment opportunities in sectors such as online marketing, web-based consumer applications, software-as-a-service and green consumer services.

Haji is the former president of Convio, an EDV portfolio company. Prior to joining Convio, Haji was CEO and co-founder of GetActive Software, where he helped establish the company as a leading provider of relationship management software for nonprofits and associations. EDV co-led the first round of venture capital funding for GetActive, which was acquired by Convio in 2007.

Before GetActive, Haji led a product management team at Digital Impact, a provider of online direct marketing solutions for enterprises. He has also worked as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company, where he served both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Haji launched his career as an environmental engineer in the Washington, DC office of Environ International. Haji has a BS from Brown University and an MS from Stanford University.

“El Dorado Ventures is extremely entrepreneur-focused and was a great partner when I was at Convio and GetActive,” Haji said. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work closely with El Dorado to seek new investment opportunities and leverage my entrepreneurial energy.”

“We enjoyed working with Sheeraz when he was at Convio and GetActive, and we’re looking forward to working with him again,” said Scott Irwin, General Partner of El Dorado Ventures. “Sheeraz did a great job at GetActive and Convio. We think he has a very bright future as a technology entrepreneur.”
