MENLO PARK, Calif. -- El Dorado Ventures today announced that Ray Schuder has been promoted to the position of Principal.
Schuder joined El Dorado Ventures in 2005 as a Senior Associate. He works closely with El Dorado’s General Partners in all facets of the firm’s investments in early-stage information technology companies. Since joining the firm, Schuder has focused on investments in areas such as broadband video/IPTV and digital media and has worked extensively on the firm’s recent investments in DVDPlay, Luxury Link, RipCode and TowerCloud.
Prior to joining El Dorado Ventures, Schuder was a Vice President with Pequot Ventures, where he focused on investments in hardware and communications. Previously, Schuder was a Director with Silicon Valley BancVentures, the venture capital arm of Silicon Valley Bank, where he managed the hardware practice. Prior to Silicon Valley BancVentures, Schuder was a product manager with NVIDIA. Schuder has also worked as a research engineer for Hewlett-Packard and HP Labs and holds seven U.S. patents.
Schuder graduated with highest honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He earned two Masters degrees from the Stanford University Graduate School of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Systems Engineering) and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
